Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland regional group founded

Seventh BREKO regional group supports the association’s work at state level
Regional concept ensures synergies in fiber optic expansion through central local contacts

The member companies of the German Broadband Association (BREKO) that are expanding in Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland founded a joint BREKO regional group on May 13, 2020. This is the seventh group to be established as part of the regional concept. The geographical proximity of the two federal states has created a strong regional group that represents BREKO’s interests even better at regional level. Bernd Gowitzke (KEVAG Telekom GmbH, Rhineland-Palatinate) and Ingbert Seufert (VSE NET GmbH, Saarland) will in future act as regional group spokespersons as central points of contact for political decision-makers in Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland. Jürgen Beyer (PFALZKOM GmbH) and Guido Hartmann (VEGA-net GmbH) were elected as deputies.
The regional group has set itself the goal of strengthening BREKO’s current activities in Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland, meeting several times a year and intensifying cooperation with local decision-makers.
“Fiber optic expansion is a regional project business that requires local contacts. Through our regional groups, there is an even better exchange with local decision-makers. This creates synergies and accelerates fiber optic expansion in the long term,” explains BREKO Managing Director Dr. Stephan Albers on the importance of the regional groups for the association.
“The last few weeks have shown how important an efficient digital infrastructure is for our society and economy. With the Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland regional group, we will work together to build future-proof fiber optic networks even faster, at least into buildings,” says Bernd Gowitzke about the goals of the new regional group.
“By working together, the BREKO network operators from Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland are creating important synergies. We are not only accelerating the expansion of fiber optics, but also supporting our regional decision-makers by having a central point of contact in the federal states,” explains Ingbert Seufert.
