BREKO Schleswig-Holstein and Hamburg regional group with new spokesperson team

Bonn/Kiel/Hamburg, 09.06.2023 The Schleswig-Holstein and Hamburg regional group of the German Broadband Association (BREKO) has elected a new team of spokespersons. Fabian Bühring, Managing Director of Stadtwerke Neumünster, will take over the leadership.

At a meeting of the BREKO Schleswig-Holstein and Hamburg regional group on May 16, 2023, the members present elected a new team of spokespersons as scheduled. Fabian Bühring from Stadtwerke Neumünster was elected as the regional group spokesperson. His deputies were Jörg Knöller from GVG Glasfaser, Dennis Ressel from Stadtwerke Geesthacht and Daniel Pastewka from Breitbandnetz Gesellschaft in Breklum.

In accordance with the BREKO regional concept adopted at the end of 2018, the association’s Board of Management confirmed this choice in a conference call on May 31, 2023.

On behalf of the Schleswig-Holstein and Hamburg regional group and the BREKO Board of Directors, Jan Simons, Head of Regional and Municipal Policy of the association, bid farewell to the long-standing regional group spokesperson and Regional Committee Chairwoman Ulla Meixner, Head of the Telecommunications Division at Stadtwerke Flensburg, with heartfelt thanks for her commitment to the nationwide expansion of fiber optics in the north and throughout Germany.

Schleswig-Holstein is far ahead of the rest of the country when it comes to expanding the fiber optic infrastructure. In future, the regional group will therefore focus less on speeding up approval procedures and the use of modern installation methods and instead focus on the densification of already developed areas, as well as fiber optic expansion into individual apartments in apartment buildings and the practical implementation of open access in the fiber optic market.
