High completion rates in the grey areas
Following successful pre-marketing and a high completion rate, the city of Wolfsburg and WOBCOM GmbH are implementing the fiber optic expansion funded by the federal and state of Lower Saxony funding program in the towns of Wendschott, Hehlingen, Velstove, Brackstedt, Barnstorf and Schleusensiedlung. This expansion will close the final gaps and Wolfsburg will achieve nationwide fiber optic coverage.

Own-account fibre optic expansion completed in Petersberg and Salzatal
Saxony-Anhalt’s Minister for Infrastructure and Digital Affairs, Dr. Lydia Hüskens, has symbolically activated new fibre optic networks in two municipalities in the Saale district. “Fast and reliable fiber optic networks are part of public services, especially in rural areas. Attractive living spaces only work with a well-developed infrastructure. We are working every day to create such attractive structures throughout Saxony-Anhalt so that people enjoy living here and companies find an ideal business location,” said Hüskens at the commissioning ceremonies in Wallwitz and Salzmünde.

Fiber optics in Teltow-Fläming: DNS:NET builds in Blankenfelde-Mahlow
Supplying Brandenburg with fiber optics and inspiring people with the speed of light is what DNS:NET stands for as the largest alternative fiber optic provider in the region. From spring 2025, DNS:NET will also be expanding its fiber optic infrastructure in the district of Teltow-Fläming.

Fiber optic expansion in Eggingen begins
The excavators are rolling in Eggingen: the Schönau-based internet provider Stiegeler is starting the fiber optic expansion. With a symbolic ground-breaking ceremony, Managing Director Felix Stiegeler, together with Mayor Karlheinz Gantert and representatives of the construction company carrying out the work, gave the go-ahead for the expansion project. Around 480 buildings in the town will thus be given the chance of future-proof high-speed Internet.

Digital milestone: GVG Glasfaser’s fiber optic network in Schöngeising is complete
It’s done. The roll-out of GVG Glasfaser’s fiber-optic network in Schöngeising has been successfully completed and the network is now in operation throughout the area. Schöngeising’s First Mayor Thomas Totzauer symbolically activated the last house connection today, making his municipality fit for the digital future.

Ground-breaking ceremony in Horb-Mühlen
Starting signal for a pioneering future project in the Mühlen district of Horb: Stiegeler is building a high-performance fiber optic network. At the same time, Netze BW is renewing the local electricity grid. The expansion was officially opened with a symbolic ground-breaking ceremony on February 26, 2025. Around 315 buildings in the town will be given the chance to enjoy future-proof high-speed Internet.

Fiber optic expansion in the Inner West North is progressing: First buildings successfully connected
The fiber optic expansion in the northern section of Regensburg’s Inner West is making significant progress. The first 24 of the 71 buildings in this construction phase have now been successfully connected to R-KOM’s high-speed network. This corresponds to 88 residential units, which now benefit from fiber optics right into the building.

The project marks significant progress for the digital infrastructure in the Hanover region and beyond.

Fibre optic expansion: last connections in the Ganghofersiedlung completed
The broadband expansion in the Ganghofersiedlung has been successfully completed. Within one and a half years of construction, a total of 258 buildings were connected with modern fiber optic technology. This means that 1,025 usage units benefit from a future-proof digital infrastructure.

Last residential units completed: Lightning-fast Internet for over 300 households in Burgweinting
R-KOM GmbH is pleased to announce the successful completion of another important fiber optic expansion project in Regensburg. Around Rudolf-Schlichtinger-Straße in Burgweinting, a total of 62 buildings with 321 usage units were connected to the state-of-the-art fiber optic network. After intensive construction work, which began in March 2024, the last remaining buildings have now also been completed.
