fiberdays 25: Fulminant start at the new location in Frankfurt
Frankfurt am Main, 03.04.2025 At its debut in the German trade fair capital Frankfurt, fiberdays 25 underlines its claim as the leading trade fair for fiber optics and digitization and opens up new subject areas without losing its long-standing charm as a “class reunion” of the industry.
2025, the digital and fibre optic trade fair fiberdays took place for the first time at Messe Frankfurt on 2 and 3 April and grew significantly at the new location – both in terms of the number of exhibiting companies, trade visitors and the congress program: 270 German and international exhibitors presented their latest products and services relating to fibre optics and digitization on 16,000 square meters of exhibition space. More than 10,400 visitors came to Hall 3.1 at Messe Frankfurt over the two days of the trade fair.

Successful move
At the end of fiberdays 25, BREKO Managing Director Dr. Stephan Albers sums up: “A big move like this naturally always brings opportunities and risks. After four years in Wiesbaden, many things were new here in Frankfurt. And then also a few sizes bigger. But I can say that it was a complete success! Many thanks to all exhibitors, visitors, sponsors, program partners and – last but not least – to our trade fair team at BREKO, who implemented this major event in a truly professional manner.”
New topics and formats enrich congress program
In addition to tried-and-tested topics and formats such as panel discussions, lectures, seminars and workshops on key topics such as open access, business strategies and investments, the new “Gigabit Campus of the Federal Government and the Federal States” and “Municipal Marketplace” areas introduced in 2024 at the stand of fiberdays Gold Sponsor teranet were also offered again this year due to the positive response. There were also new themed areas such as the “Green Plaza” specializing in sustainability topics, the “International Carrier Exchange” with an extensive English-language program and the AI Forum.
A variety of side events enrich fiberdays
On the day before fiberdays, the Bundesverband Breitbandkommunikation e.V. (BREKO) hosted an exclusive public utilities get-together on the topic of AI use in telecommunications, a CXO forum and a meeting of the association’s internal public relations working group. During the two days of the trade fair, the media hall – the now firmly established leading congress for TV product management, marketing of TV products and FAST Channels – attracted the who’s who of the media industry. Another big crowd-puller was the newly initiated fibercup – the first German championship in fiber optic splicing. The young generation of the fiber optic industry celebrated the first birthday of their network nextgen at fiberdays 25.
