BMDV publishes wholesale prices for access to subsidized fiber optic networks
On December 23, the Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport (BMDV) published prices for third-party access to subsidized networks on its website. This was preceded by months of discussion about the methodology for setting prices and the level of wholesale prices. BREKO had contributed to the discussion with several statements and advocated that fair and appropriate wholesale prices be set that do not have a negative impact on existing and future investments in fiber optic networks.
The prices now set for bitstream, fiber-optic ULL, empty conduit access and dark fiber apply directly to all funded projects that have received a funding decision in 2024 or will receive a funding decision in the future. The project tenders will be based on the wholesale prices, which will then be taken into account when calculating the profitability gap.
