BREKO press release: BREKO welcomes its new press spokesperson
Annika Sasse-Röth is the new press spokesperson for the German Broadband Communications Association (BREKO). She has been responsible for press and public relations at the association’s Berlin office since June 1, 2020.
Annika Sasse-Röth has over ten years of communications experience. After completing her studies, the engineering graduate worked for several years as communications manager for a medium-sized service center. She then founded her own communications agency and managed integrated communications projects in the field of sports and lifestyle PR in Europe, Asia and the USA. She specialized primarily in digital and cross-media communication formats. In 2019, she was awarded the Stevie Award in Gold for her work.
After several years of self-employment, Annika Sasse-Röth joined the Munich agency Schwartz Public Relations in 2018. There she was responsible for social media and looked after clients in the fields of digitalization and telecommunications. In 2019, she was in charge of press communications for Deutsche Telekom’s nationwide digitalization initiative, DIGITAL X. With 1&1 Versatel, she supported one of BREKO’s largest members in its external communications.
Annika Sasse-Röth will use her wide-ranging communications experience for press and public relations work at the German Broadband Association in Berlin. She will report to the head of the BREKO capital city office, Sven Knapp. “We are delighted that we have been able to recruit Annika Sasse-Röth, an industry expert, for BREKO who will also help us move forward in the area of social media and the establishment of new formats,” explains Sven Knapp.
Annika Sasse-Röth has already set herself initial goals for the new challenge: “BREKO and its member companies are shaping the digital transformation at all levels in Germany. I am very much looking forward to supporting this process and giving the players a voice. With topics such as the fundamental revision of the Telecommunications Act or the BREKO SummerSchool 20, there are exciting topics and projects on the agenda this year that can reach even more people with innovative communication concepts.”
